The History

The KNKV Viral Award was first introduced in 2023, marking the rebranding of KNKV Group with a bold and innovative vision. The idea for this prestigious event was conceived by Wan Utama, the Group Executive Director of KNKV Group, who envisioned a platform to recognize and celebrate the transformative power of digital creators and influencers in shaping a positive and impactful online landscape.

During its inaugural edition, seven categories were contested, and Boss James, a renowned creator and influencer at the time, made history as the first recipient of the prestigious Special Content Creator Award.

Building on the success of its first edition, the 2nd Edition of the KNKV Viral Award was launched with an even greater aspiration—to honor content creators and influencers whose work delivers positive messages and creates meaningful impact on a national level.

The 2nd Edition saw an expansion to 17 categories under the Gold Award, celebrating exceptional talents such as Ryan Bakery (Best National Content Creator), Sir Asai (Best National Educational/Informative Influencer), and Mek Yun (Best National Entertainment Influencer).

Additionally, the ceremony honored several prominent individuals who left a lasting impact on Malaysian society through their exceptional contributions. Sofyank was celebrated with the Viral Laureate Content Creator Award for his outstanding influence in the digital realm, while Dato’ M Nasir received recognition for his timeless hit “Lagu Tiara”. Acclaimed actor Beto Kusyairy was acknowledged for his impactful roles, and Aliff Satar was celebrated for his inspirational initiative, “Gerakan Geng Subuh,” which resonated deeply with the public. These recipients exemplify the transformative power of creativity and influence in shaping a positive cultural landscape.

Aina Abdul was also awarded the distinguished Anugerah Diva Terulung, further solidifying the ceremony’s reputation as a platform that celebrates excellence.

The 2nd Edition of the KNKV Viral Award made history by being broadcast live on TV2, achieving over 1 million viewers and cementing its status as a prestigious event in the Malaysian entertainment and digital landscape.
